Laser Spine Treatment

Laser Spine Treatment has become a great alternative for many to traditional Open Back Surgery. For many individuals suffering from intractable back pain, the thought of going through Open Back surgery has actually kept them from finding relief. These individuals choose to live with the pain because they are apprehensive about going through with Open Back surgery and all that it entails. The availability of Endoscopic Laser surgery has provided these individuals with an option other than to suffer with great pain or have invasive surgery. Laser Spine Treatment has been a prayer answered for many.

Laser Spine Treatment does Not Require a Large Incision

Unlike Open Back Surgery, Laser Spine Treatment does not require a large incision or the cutting through tissue and muscle. Therefore, it does not carry the same risks of Open Back. The absence of cutting through muscle means less bleeding, less scarring and less surgical risk overall. Laser surgery is performed with a combination of a local anesthetic and an I.V. “twilight” sedation. Open Back is done under general anesthesia, which carries a greater risk of complications. Many Laser Spine surgeons perform laser spine surgery as an outpatient procedure, whereas Open Back requires a lengthy hospital stay and continued aftercare and therapies. In fact, it may take up to a year for a patient to recover fully from Open Back surgery. None of this applies to Laser Spine Treatment.

Laser Spine Treatment Minimal Aftercare

With Laser Spine Treatment there is minimal aftercare. One is back to baseline in weeks, rather than months or a year! Laser Spine is performed by cutting a few very tiny incisions through the skin of the back and inserting a tool called an Endoscope into the back cavity. The Endoscope is a thin, flexible tube that has both a light and miniature camera attached to it. This tool allows the surgeon to see inside the back cavity to perform the surgery without actually opening the back surgically. The surgery itself is done by inserting special tools through another tube, called a portal, which pushes muscle aside instead of cutting through it! Once Laser Spine Treatment is completed the instruments and portal are retracted and the muscle falls back into place.

Spinal Stenosis

Many conditions, such as Spinal Stenosis, Herniated or Bulging Discs, Spondylosis, Bone Spurs and others may be corrected with Laser Spine Treatment. If you are one of the many needlessly suffering with intractable back pain, perhaps Laser Spine Treatment can bring you the relief you have been seeking!
